Workplace Access & Safety are a finalist for the Facility Management Associations (FMA) FM Industry Awards for Excellence in the Collaborative Partnership award category.
The seemingly impossible has been achieved with the collaboration of everyone from the subcontractor, to the builder, project manager and through to the owner and client facility manager.
Workplace Access & Safety, Hutchinson Builders and Cornerstone Properties have been recognised for their work together to accomplish the design, manufacture and installation of four large cooling towers at 310 Ann Street in Brisbane’s CBD.
The access platforms recommended by the manufacturer were unworkable.
Hutchinson Builders and Cornerstone Properties consulted height safety specialist, Workplace Access & Safety . Together, the three companies determined the access needs, consulted with the client FM and delivered over the New Year break.
The solution shaved 28 per cent off the cost and provided uncompromised access to all the service points on the four large cooling towers.
The cleverly designed access system has reduced the lifetime cost of maintaining the cooling towers and increased the lifespan of the equipment. At the same time, the risk of injury for FMs and technicians has been dramatically reduced.
